Bored, Bored, Bored!!!

My life has a sameness to it. If I am home it follows a regular routine (unless we have a windstorm/typhoon). Even last week when I wasn't home was the same---same drive down to Lincoln City, same view all day long (while Dewayne was at work) from the window at the same motel. Same breakfasts there as before. Same dental chair in same office. Same room in same hostel at same hospital in Portland. Same doctor's office. Same restaurants and fast food places.
OK some of it was different. I chewed and ate my bottom lip when it was numb and made a big sore on it. I went to one doctor (out of the two doctors) who was new. It was the cardiologist who said to just live with the atrial fibrillation. The other doctor was my eye doctor who did a pressure check for the glaucoma. And we went to the Lazyboy store and I ordered a new swivel rocker recliner since my old one is well--old and sinks down too low for me to get out of it. We had the same drive home. I couldn't sleep in any of the hotel beds so sat up all night and had hugely swollen feet and ankles and was so tired I didn't wake up for church on Sunday and no one woke me up so I missed church.
Tonight I got an email from the Relief Society telling me that President Kimball had died at the age of 97. Sad for him to leave us, but he certainly made the best use of his days on Earth and instead of moaning about my boredom I should look to him as an example of how the make the best use of my time and leave something memorable on the Earth for my descendants. We members will miss him and his kind leadership and we will enjoy his accomplishments---all the new temples, the Family Proclamation, his inspiring talks at General Conference and the growth of the Church from 9 to 13 million members to name a few.

Man,we all are singing the January blues!!!!It is my least favorite month. We just have come out of three months of holidays and planning and excitement to nothing! Nothing happens in January except for a couple of birthdays. The weather is yucky, except for here...well we did have an entire day of rain, but for the most part everywhere else it's cold and dreary. When I heard the news of President Hinckley passing, I couldn't feel sad, I just kept thinking of the sweet reunion between his wife and himself, not to mention his parents, siblings, and friends. He will be missed, so much has happened during his presidency. We will all be indebted to his service and guiding hand. The primary children will be sad on Sunday. I'm swamped, I take on too much...even so, my days are the same. Watch many babies, clean, cook, study, go to school, more studying mixed with a grocey trip to get some groceries. I still can't drive my car due to a repair need so it can pass emmision so I can register the stupid thing, and... we leased it and our lease is coming due in April. We'll be down to Kirks company van. He's working mainly from home, so for now we'll save some money and buy a used car later. We need to start planning our reunion. Kirks family wants to have one this year also. Ellen and I were suppose to plan it, I've given it over to Kirk. It probably won't happen. We'll see. Love you, Debbie

Mom, your title of "Bored, Bored, Bored", is exactly how I feel everyday. Without teaching kids everyday, there isn't much for me to do. I sleep about 10-12 hours a day, eat, play on the computer, watch tv, take a nap, eat some more, and then go back to bed. I get excited if I get to go for a ride with Barry to pay a bill or go grocery shopping. I can't wait for some projects to come my way to help fill the time until the babies get here. I think that you meant to write about the passing of President Hinkley and not of President Kimball. Your mind was thinking back a few years. You can look forward to my baby shower and my visit on your b-day. I know I am.

Love, Shelly and the girls

"Bored , Bored, Bored out of my gourd, gourd, gourd!" I have been sitting here with Brian reading this blog and laughing my pants off!! You are so funny, you've never lost your sence of humour although I cant say the same for your sanity! I love you so much and think of you often. Thank you so much for your inspirational comments to my church talk. It took alot of guts to get up there and read it and even to post it for my family to see but, I am glad that I did. Love You!
