It's My Birthday!

Yesterday's snowfall

I was born 69 years ago on April 22, 1939. I have so many interesting memories, but it is still hard to accept that I am this old. Even though my health isn't good, my mind seems young and I still want to do interesting things. especially travel. I need a travel buddy ( a running partner as my mother used to say) and I need help at home to do the things here I want to do.

I need the Clean Sweep TV show or someone to come organize me. Then I need someone to help me get all my photos into albums. I would like to have lots of the photos in old albums scanned and uploaded into the computor so that I could share them with all of you. I need to get our family history up to date and genealogy data entered into the Personal Ancestry File. My physical limitations hold me back, however. I get tired and sleepy off and on all day long. These are symptoms of atrial fibrillation and also of some of the medications I take.

Today is Earth Day. On April 22, 1970 the celebrations for the first Earth Day were held. On that day I was teaching Biology at Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon. Plant some trees or bushes. Check your plastic products. Looke for the number inside the triangle on the bottom of the bottle or container. 7 is the most dangerous and 1 is the best. 7 contains the most poly carbonates which will leach out into the liquid contents and disrupt a person's endocrine system. Especially be sure your babies do not drink out of bottles with a 7 on the bottom. Replace with glass, stainless steel or ???

You may have to wait for the weather to warm up before you do your spring planting. Our weather has been really wierd this year starting with our windstorms. I looked out the window yesterday and was shocked to see big, fat snowflakes falling (as you can see by the photos I included). Snow on the beach is quite a shock, especially this late in the year. Photos of people playing in the snow on the beach by the turn-a-round in Seaside were on the main network newscasts.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!! Maybe you could start sending me photo albums and I can start scanning them for you. I have a scanner and ALOT of free time since Graham is going to Afghanistan, I need something to keep me busy.

Wow! Snow in April...that is crazy weather. I think it is really neat that all the kids and grandkids get to read snippets of your life, you've had an interesting and full one that's for sure. We love you and hope you had a great birthday.

I'm glad I got to talk to you on your birthday mom. I love your postings and what you remember about earth day. I am just getting caught up with posting comments on people's blogs. Once you get behind, it's a chore to catch up. I do love blogging and keeping in touch with my family. I know I should do mine more often. I will when the babies are here because everyone will call me and say where are the babies pictures?
