A Day in Seaside

Seaside is a must do for everyone. I went on the first trip and as each group arrived and went to town a lot of other people wanted to go again and again. Let's pose the kids. Back row left to right we have Ryan (in the shadow), Jazmine, Anna, and Olivia. Front row left to right are Anthony Daniel and Rhiannon.

Seaside has beautiful hanging flower baskets on every light pole up and down Broadway Avenue on both sides of the street.

Time to pose for another photo. Let's climb and see how high we can get.

Not a perfect photo--what is that light blurring in the middle. They all look good though--all twelve of them (counting the twins in the stroller)

The beach looking south at Tillamook Head.

Life guards on duty. When I stayed with my aunt and uncle (I was 18 and it was the summer between my first and second year at the U. of Oregon) and I would walk up the Prom before workand put my towel and stuff down on the sand and go jump waves and dive through them right in front of the Lifeguard tower for safety. The water temp is usually in the 50's but that summer it hit 70 and actually felt warm. The term El Nino hadn't been coined back then but that is what it was. It was a wonderful summer. It was great of Aunt Helen and Uncle Elmer to invite me to live with them for the summer. i think of them every time we drive by their house.

Here is a group playing volleyball. Looking north towards Washington.

DeWayne is keeping his neck warm.

We were the first ones into the hat store. I ended up buying some of the kids hats that day. Here's Anna. She, Jazmine, Ryan and Rhiannon were with me in the store so they are the ones I got photos of. The rest shopped later.

Anna again with a bat hat.

And Anna again. I'm not sure what this hat represents.

Anna and Jazmine both going on 13 years old.

Jazmine picked this one.

Here's Rhiannon in a court jester hat.

Ryan picked this one and headed to the candy store.

Really stylin' Jazmine.

Jaz again.

Rhiannon again.

And here we have Jazmine.

Rhiannon again in a goldfish hat!

Jazmine, Anna, and Rhiannon. Cousins in patriotic numbers.

The gang munching on the candy they picked. Look at the size of the big green jaw breaker in Daniel's hand.

I was intrigued by this artist.

Of course the kids wanted to ride the merry-go-round. Here are Rhiannon and Olivia.

Chantrell (purple bib)

Brenna (pink bib) Why is this underlined?

The right side of the table. Rhiannon, Olivia, Anna, and Jazmine.

Pizza for lunch. Ryan, Erica, Anthony, and Barry (standing at the end). Where is Daniel, Michelle, the babies and DeWayne? I'm taking the pictures. We had a great time!

Good pictures mom...I really like your new camera. It has a great super zoom, so you can get really close. Funny comments...like, why is this underlined?? You probably hit the underline key by mistake. You crack me up!! I like all the pictures of the funny hats on the grandkids. Keep up the good work and blog away. Before you know it...you will be finished.

Love, Shelly

I agree, I laughed out loud at your question as to why that sentence was underlined, I would've tried to fix it, but no, you just leave it and think out loud. I love it!!! You did take some great pictures, I liked the story of the summer you spent with Esther and Floyd.
