Goings-on at the Bowman house

I woke up to shouts of "the elk are here" and when I looked out the window I could see the whole herd. They have been in various areas of Surf Pines for a few days and they finally came close to our house.

Bottoms up!

Hey--the grass is greener over on that side of the fence,

Two moms and two babies

The king of the herd!

We've counted thirteen in the herd.

Michelle babysat Ryder at the outdoor mall while I got a perm and he picked this racetrack at the K-B toys outlet.

Tiffany and three grouchy kids who didn't want to go to bed.

Day two--the herd is still here.

I don't know why we are so fascinated by them.

Michelle and I spotted this blue heron in the Neacanicum estuary in Seaside.

It kept preening its feathers and I finally got a profile of its head.

Rhiannon and Ryder starting school at Gearhart Elementary.

Ryder's classroom. He was really excited about starting kindergarten.

He goes to the morning Kindergarten (a half day program)

Bye Mom

Hi Aunt Shelley

School was great!

Rhiannon! Give me that camera!

Let's pick some blackberries while we wait for Rhiannon's bus.

And play king of the hill on this pile of sand.

And get the mail.

Hi Sissy. How was school? Rhiannon takes good care of her youngest brother.

What a cute baby deer!

And here is its mother.

Michelle and I drove home on the beach and it was so clear I was able to get a telephoto picture of Tillamook lighthouse.

Barry is working in the produce department of the Safeway store in Astoria. Doesn't look good?

We are babysitting the boys while Tiffany is at work. They are training her to work the front desk of the motel. I think she said it is called the High Tide Motel

Rhiannon in her first day of school outfit. Tiffany crimped her hair that day.

What a pretty fourth grader.

Great pictures mom. The kids all look cute and happy. The elk are awesome! How cool that they were right by your house. Barry looks good and that's great that he got a good job. His tie needs to be tied to where the tip hits the top of his waist band unless that's how he supposed to tie it. Just a note from an obsessive person. :) Love you guys!

I was thinking the same thing after hearing Kirk complain about his tie yesterday as he retied it... right there in church as we were sitting during the opening announcements. Barry looks good though, did he get a haircut too? I love all the pics of the elk, when we lived in Alaska, we took rolls of film of the moose...every time they came...I'm not sure why we are so obsessed with animals in nature, maybe it's because they are elusive and grace us with their appearance once in a great while and if we make a noise or get too close, they're gone. We want more pictures of the babies!!!! It looks like the kids are happy to be back and happy to be back in school. I really like the picture that Rhiannon took of you, your perm looks good and the color of your dress or top is beautiful, it brings out a real nice color in your face. Well it's time to study for my biology test, I'm stressing...covalent bonds, ions, protons, neutrons, atoms, isotypes...ugh!!It's been too long, over 30 years...ack.

Barry wears an apron, black I think over the shirt and tie so no one really see the tie at work. I told him it was too short and to retie it. He said I was lucky he even remembered how to tie his tie. It took him 30 minutes just to tie it. Barry laughs at all the comments about it.

You guys are so silly, but it is fun to read all these posts. Its just like we are all sitting together in an imaginary 'post rrom' talking just with delayed comments. I love all your photos Mom. You must have worked really hard to get all that done and I appreciate getting to see you and all that you guys are doing up in Oregon. Its so funny, in the beggining of your post about the sand pile and burm and your obbsession about the elk, you typed it twice. I thought it was a typo until I realized you actually wrote it two different ways. Too cute and silly. I love the picts of the elk in the sunlight-it is soft lighting and kind of fuzzy and warm looking.I bet you waited forever for that silly heron to move his head perfectly, didn't you.Lice! I cant believe your luck. As if fleas weren't bad enough. The kids look so happy to be going to school. How fun and Barry, you look great in a shirt in tie..you could even pass the sacrament in church now! He,He. How is Dad doing? Sneak some photos of him when you get the chance and I want to see more of you too. I miss you and love you all, Love Jenn Sue Sid
