Teaching

I am a retired Biology teacher and I have one daughter, Michelle, who has finished school and taught a year, in elementary education. Now three more daughters are going to school in elementary education--Debbie in Arizona, Erica in Utah, and Jennifer in Las Vegas. Kay-Lynn has taught Chemistry at the college level to help in her financial burden of becoming a pharmacist. Lisa, Michelle, Kay-Lynn, Jennifer and Tiffany helped in my Biology classroom either as teacher's helpers or by decorating the classroom.
I taught Biology in Crete, Greece and Debbie was one of the students. I taught Science at the Hebrew Academy and Kay-Lynn, Erica, Jennifer and Tiffany were all students in my classroom. Brett was a student in one of my college labs at UNLV. Lisa and Michelle were the only ones who escaped.
We could all have chosen more lucrative professions, but I am proud of the teachers in our family and know from my own experiences that the rewards far outweigh the work and sacrifices involved in teaching. Good luck to you three in your studies.

Where did that come from? I was totally confused as to why you were writing that and who it was meant for until I reached the very end. It was really beautiful Mom. What inspired you to write those words? What have you had on your mind lately? I love you, Jenn

I was inspired by Erica joining you and Debbie as elem. educ. students and by the comments after her posts.

Thanks Mom for the tribute to all the future aspiring students. I wish I would have done this 30 years ago, it would've been easier on my body and brain. I really enjoy school and the challenges it brings though, and I really appreciate the example you have been for all of us. I just hope one day I can be as good of a teacher as you are. Love you, Debbie
